Hot. Efficient. Green.

5 years of SPH – powering a more sustainable industry

From start-up to trusted technology partner for industry

SPH on track to the future

What began in April 2020 at the Rheinisch-Bergisches TechnologieZentrum (RBTZ) has quickly grown into an innovative company with a clear mission: making industrial waste heat usable – efficiently and sustainably.

Our founders and managing directors, Dr. Tim Hamacher and Andreas Mück, bring years of experience in engine technology, energy system, and CHP units – and have been working together since 2008. At the heart of the ThermBooster™, the high-temperature heat pump they developed, is a specially engineered piston compressor designed for high temperatures – a key requirement for the industrial application of waste heat.

Since 2022, SPH has been headquartered in Overath-Vilkerath, complete with its own production facility. In 2024, we expanded our office space to accommodate our growing team – now around 20 people and counting – and to foster even more collaboration and innovation.

Beyond our work with industrial clients, we are partners in national and European research projects, including AHEAD, Push2Heat, and HeatTransPlan. Winning the Start-Up Award at the 2023 Wirtschaftsnacht Rheinland was a proud moment for us – and a strong endorsement of our technology and vision.

In 2025, we plan to commission more than 10 custom-designed heat pump systems. One thing is certain: SPH isn’t standing still. We’re moving forward – committed to cutting industrial emissions, reducing energy costs, and making a real contribution to the energy transition.
