Two ThermBooster™ units delivered to Spain
Process heat for juice production in Spain
SPH high-temperature heat pumps electrify the beverage industry
Last week, we delivered two additional high-temperature heat pumps to our customer in Spain as part of this year’s deliveries. This brings the total number of ThermBooster™ units in industrial applications to more than ten. The systems will be used in juice production and will make a significant contribution to the climate-friendly transition of process heat generation in the beverage industry. The project marks another milestone in the rollout of electrified process heat solutions across Europe.
Both heat pumps operate with the refrigerant R1224yd and are designed for demanding industrial temperature ranges. They use a heat source at 80 °C and cool it down to 70 °C, enabling hot water to be heated from 100 °C to 110 °C. With a thermal output of 1.2 MW each and a COP of 5.5, the systems achieve high efficiency and allow the operator to largely replace fossil energy sources.
The food and beverage industry in particular has a high demand for reliable and efficient process heat. Our ThermBooster™ provides an economically and technically compelling solution to decarbonise production processes while sustainably reducing operating costs over the long term.
